I've been building and breaking software since the early 1990s, from low-level machine code through distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering.
Before Morty Labs, I spent 14 years at JPMorgan, latterly as a Vice President working across Site Reliability Engineering, cloud development and application modernisation.
I'm a named inventor on this software release automation patent, covering production release governance, compliance, vulnerability checking and deployment controls.
The patented platform started as a fun side project that I originated and built independently for its first seven months, before forming and leading the team that took it further across JPMorgan's Investment Bank.

That means K3s homelab infrastructure, distributed monitoring, event-driven systems, Python automation, custom IoT devices, smart-garden telemetry and experiments in Agentic AI.
The interesting question is no longer simply "can this manual toil be automated?" It is whether a system can observe what is happening, understand enough context to decide what matters, take a safe corrective action and explain what it did.
